Hello from The Harpies!
We are The Harpies, an independent project collective formed by three artists in the Providence area: Ayla Ahlquist, Mariah Min, and Tina Wolstencroft. As writers and comedians, we have experience in -- and met one another doing! -- improv, sketch, and musical comedy, which brought us to venues such as the Contemporary Theater Company in Wakefield, Wage House Comedy Theater in Pawtucket, the Columbus and Wilbury Theaters in Providence, the Magnet Theater in NYC, and Philly Improv Theater in (you guessed it) Philadelphia.
What we do could be called soup-to-nuts theater; we write, direct, and produce our own full-length shows. Since we joined forces in unholy union in 2024, we have completed the following projects:
But this is only the beginning of our soon-to-be substantial portfolio-- stay tuned for more exciting projects from us! We are always interested in working with organizations (e.g. site-specific shows), teaching classes (e.g. improv workshops), and generally collaborating with our talented neighbors.
